The wait is over... We are really excited to announce that ZOO 2.0 is FINAL. Today we release the new version of ZOO 2.0 and as promised everybody can download ZOO for free. Since the BETA release we have made quite a few changes and fixed all known bugs. You can find more in information in the changelog file of the download package.

As we announced in our blog about the new app bundle ZOO 2.0 will come with two, free preinstalled apps: the pages and the blog app. Both are ready to use after the installation of the ZOO 2.0. All types, elements and layouts of the apps are predefined you can start using them right away. No configuring needed. Besides the ZOO component itself a item, tag and comment module as well as a search plugin are bundled in the download package. They allow a seamless integration into Joomla and provide a richer tool set to create your website. Go and grab your own copy of ZOO 2.0 and take it for a spin.

New Website and Documentation

We relaunched the whole content of the ZOO website. Everything is now up-to-date. You find there the new video tour through ZOO 2.0, new screenshots, a description of all powerful key features, detail information about the content builder and demonstration sites of all apps. Another highlight is the brand new documentation site for ZOO 2.0. We created a lot of tutorials to get you started and how you set up your whole website with ZOO. I've got two questions :

Will the frontend submission come with a future version of zoo or it's not going to happen at all ?

What about a french translation ? Is it planned ? Can we help ?

  We are considering frontend submission for future version. :-) But there is nothing to talk about now because it is currently not supported ;-)
  
  Yes, a french translation would be great! Just download the language pack in the download area and use it as basis for the translation :-)

Thanks for ZOO! That really made my day. This is really amazing and everything i was looking for until now. Do you consider releasing an e-commerce or shop app? I guess if so, i buy it right away! Keep up the good work!

I'm in a crossroads. To adopt or not adopt zoo for my website. The idea of a submission frontend is designed only for joomla 1.6? It can also be implemented in joomla 1.5? This point is crucial for my decision. Congratulations zoo, he is almost fantastic.

Is it possible to use the zoo demo content to get you started? I mean if you install a template and install the demo content and then install Zoo 2.0 and the App pack.

Is there a feature that includes the ability to print and email an article? I noticed that other products like K2 provide a section under the article title that allows for these functions, including changing the font size. Will Zoo have a community forum site for the free version? What could we expect within the 6-month subscription in regards to the app bundle? It would have been nice if the subscription was at least a year.

  - The social bookmarks element has an email button.
  - A print element is on our todo list...
  - Changing font-size via template is out of date. Today every modern browser supports page zoom.
  - Currently we only have a forum support for ZOO members
  - We will add new apps time by time...

Sorry, one thing that I'm confused with... Is only administrator able to add new listing or all users are able to do that?

How do you set a module suffix? I'm trying to use the Blog app on a black (dark) website. I want the text and layout to follow my template's module suffix. This link,http://www.yootheme.com/zoo/documentation... talks about adding the suffix in Step 6, but I don't see that option anywhere in Zoo item setup or in your screen shot help page. Also, do you have to manually change the CSS files to change text colors and style for dark (black) sites? Sure would be nice to have a community forum like K2 for things like this. Thanks.

Definitely a superb component! One question though:

Has anyone any idea how to remove the /component/zoo/item/ from the sef-url? I use Joomla's internal mod-rewrite system with .htaccess. With SH404sef I don't get any nice sef-url at all.
