Integration between ZOO and JomSocial

It's the most requested feature in the old forum.
We would like ZOO to integrate some JomSocial features: activity stream, the messaging system as an element, avatar, link to profile page and reward points.
The documentation is here.

@Shane.French

What did you do to make Zoo work with the JS avatar and link to the JS profiles?

Do you guys know if it's possible to associate a Zoo submission with a JomSocial user account? I'm less concerned about displaying someone's activity and much more concerned about associations. I dont know much about JomSocial. I want a Zoo item, which we are using Zoo Events to send data via API to another website service, to belong to the user's accont who submitted it. This should be a no-brainer but I'm not sure if it works that way or not (for instance, virtuemart user accounts and akeeba subs subscriptions are separate from a regular joomla user account)

Agree! Especially now that YOOtheme has recently upgraded their widgetkit maps to allow clustering, it would be REALLY nice to see a [JomSocial Events/Users] + [Zoo Item mashup] >>> where all are displayed on a map together.

Since all coordinates (lat/long) are displayed on the database table - I would assume this could be possible.....right?

Yes! JomSocial and Yoothemes team up please! Also include DT Register for super kick butt integration as well. I would like to see more co-collaboration developer projects. It is the only way to be the best. Co collaborate is the only way.

Would love to see Sacsha get his hands on JomSocial and bring through the stratosphere!

True, it's time for a theme integration of YooTheme and JomSocial also. Now I've got an awesome YooTheme website, but my JomSocial looks like. :(

What kind of integration do you want exactly? I'm developing a JomSocial/Zoo site now. I hacked the Zoo comment system to work with JomSocial in about 5 minutes (well, at least display JS avatar and link to the commenter's JS profile). It would probably only take about 30 minutes to make a JS app to display their latest Zoo comments on their profile. I also don't think it would be too hard to make a JS app to show a user's Zoo submissions (blog).

Is that what you had in mind? If so, I'll probably end up doing it for my site anyhow and can release the apps. If not, what type of integration were you looking for? Tying into the activity stream, etc. would be a little more complicated, but not terribly difficult. I prob won't do it for my project though (not needed).

@jules.kozak: I have found some great templates for Jomsocial that match YooTheme templates pretty well. Try this demo out:

http://demo.eucso.info/cloud/

I purchased this one and the JS template for "The Big Easy". They are only about $7-US and fit nicely! The support has been excellent as well!

Here is the JJ Cloud template on a J2.5rc1 dev site I'm working on with JS. I think they fit very well!

Good luck!

I want a refund from either JOM or yootheme. I dont know who's fault it is but I cant be spending this kind of money and be at a dead end.

Second that!!!
A module for showing posted Zoo Items in JomSocial profile view, is the least you should expect from YooTheme... Guess K2 is a better solution for all of us JomSocial users...

Vertigo, don't hold your breath, we have been trying to get them to make Zoo compatible with JomSocial, without luck for quite a while now. I suggest switch to EasyBlog like I did, or if you prefer, Myblog. If you want a more full featured CCK there is always K2 which via a third party extension has JS support.

With that being said, I also support this big time!!! it is desperately needed. I have a lot of content in Zoo unpublished, that I would like to publish, but I won't until I see JS support.
