Error: Only up to 6 modules are supported in this layout. If you need more add your own layout.

When using the Dynamic Widgets plugin to hide widgets on certain pages, this error occurs.

The theme also seem to think the widget is still present if a widget is hidden using the same plugin in for example Sidebar B..the content is still not using 100% of the width...it stops where Sidebar B is supposed to be..even though the widget is hidden...

Not sure if this is possible to fix in any way...but I'd like to be able to atleast hide the error msg about the "only 6 modules...".

As a sidenote..the only reason I need to use this plugin regarding displaying / not displaying widgets, is because Yootheme unfortunately doesn't support widget displaying on custom post types...I hope you will implement support for this soon as it's a common feature.

Edit: Done some testing and it seems this has no connection to the Dynamic widgets plugin at all. The error happens as soon as a built in widget from WooCommerce is added to a Yootheme theme... Just did a fresh install..installed WooCommerce and tried to display the featured products widget..then this error occurs.

Well then, you're in luck. I just so happen to be working on a WooCommerce project myself. I'll see what I can do with adding Product type support to the Widget Settings.

I am after the same answer - I have the problem when I try to integrate the module injector functionality of ohanah and every time I use this facility I get Error: Only up to 6 modules are supported in this layout. If you need more add your own layout. If someone could post a solution that would be great! I have tried creating more modules in the layout but that did not work.

Hello,

I really like the layout of showroom, but I have the same problem.
I deactivated some widgets and suddenly the error came up.
Now almost every widget is deactivated but the error is still coming.
Any help?

No sollution as of yet.. And it appears that no Yootheme staff is bothering to look into the issue neither. Last reply from a staffmember was almost a year ago...

Aksel,

Thanks for posting this issue with the Dynamic Widget Plugin. When you posted this on the other question, it did occur to me this would happen. As you've figured out, YOOtheme Widgets is unaware of the Dynamic Widget's additional conditions to load or not load. As far as the theme is concerned, the widgets are going to display.

How comfortable are you working with PHP, either writing your own or adding PHP provided by someone else?

Also, what kind of Custom Post Types are you working with? I may attempt to put a guide for handling this in the code.

Thanks,

David Carroll

Hi David, thanks for you quick reply.

I'm very comfortable with PHP in general so fire away :)

I'm currently working with the WooCommerce plugin which uses a custom post type named 'product' .

Edit: typo in post type name

Did anyone find a solution to this issue?

Not sure if this helps, but I got that error and it was caused by checking show (or hide) on the front page in the widget itself. I unchecked it and set the page assignment in the theme's widget options and the error went away.

Here's the answer: http://www.yootheme.com/themes/documentation/customizing/create-a-new-module-layout

There's not much logic in WHY we should need to add a new module layout to solve this. If you see in the original TS, the error (at least for me), occurred while trying to use a 3rd party plugin to hide modules (only 1 module...never exceeded the supported amount of modules ) on certain custom post type pages - as Yootheme's module management lacks this.
