WARP 6.2 & Nano 2 - Main DropDown Navigation MUST Be Changed to Nested - (Usability Nightmare!!)

On the Nano2 theme, (and the new WARP 6.2) the main drop down menu (which appears with smaller browser sizes) is very difficult to use because child menu items are not nested - it's currently a usability nightmare. All parent and child menu items appear on the same level and so the hierarchy is very difficult to visualise. The solution involves utilising <optgroup>

Navigation is one of the key parts of any website, so I would suggest this change is crucially important and should take place immediately.

Actually, I already have read that blog post. So again, in other responsive sites, when I drag the edge of the browser, elements shift around so the they fit within the smaller broswer screen. Some module will drop under other modules. the menu will change so it also will fit on the smaller screen area. When I think of responsive, that is what I think of. With the nano theme on your website or when I tried it on my site (www.m2820.com), the different elements on the page didn't shift around so that the one that extended beyond the edge of the browser were now under the elements you could see. Instead, a scrollbar appeared and you had to scroll left and right to see the covered up elements. Is that suppose to be like that? Will that eventually change so modules will shift around so you can see them?

I really like the nano theme and have been using it from 5.5 onwards. What I would really like to see however is better responsive menu, with a better style and several colour or display options. As an example http://themeforest.net/item/solaris-drupal-theme/full_screen_preview/2295781 for what I have in mind.
Also a better contact page and footers, similar to the theme demo above, and @fontyourface integration would make this theme even more awesome than it already is. Just a wish list, I hope I am not asking too much :)

Keep it up guys/gals.
Thanks.

Doesn't Work in Older Browsers!

Also doesn't work in older Firefox browsers for macs that are a couple years old and run older browsers other than safari.

Is this going to be fixed?

Cheers

I need a little clarification. On the new nano theme, I thought you could drag the edge of your browser window to make it smaller and the nano theme would change everything around to fit within the smaller window. I tried this on my site (www.m2820.com), but I did not see any change. I also tried dragging the side of the browser on the YooTheme Nano demo itself and I ddn't see any change. what am I missing?

Yes, I do have the Subway theme. I switched it to the nano theme, but since it did not appear to make much of a change, I switched it back to the subway theme. I will check out the blog post.

I am sure you already did this but did you enable Responsive Layout in the Template Manager?

I don't think I enabled the ":Responsive Layout" feature. Where exactly is that in the Template Manager? I looked for it but could not find it.

Was this just a fix for Nano 2 or for WARP 6.2 template as well?

Hi, I have searched here and cannot find an answer:

I am using the subway theme and would like the main navigation to appear as it does in the demo..

Please see my site here: http://www.gary-schwartz.com/... When I add sub-sub menus they appear very small and tiny

How do I create a sub - sub menus to appear normal size and in a box like setting as in your demo subway theme site?

Thank you

hi mick
that is correct, unless you install the theme 'with sample data' (see zip file on the yootheme download page).
Note - this can only be installed as a new installation though and you have to select 'install sample data' during the install

has anyhting been done to fix this yet?

I cannot continue on my project until I know how the menus will work.
my deadline is in 3 weeks.

Just sitting here idle using a basic template until something is announced.

should I look elsewhere?

Hello,

the other large downside of the new mobile menu concept is that you are forced to add all links and the menu to the only one main menu. Before, it was no problem to separate both. Now you can't have for example a sidebar menu and a main menu or only a sidebar menu. The top main menu is the only one which change the behavior with mobile devices. I think that this is a step back for the flexibility of the templates and in some cases not longer of use.

Regards, Michael

It's in the Profiles setting of your Template. I just looked for the same thing.
