Interest in a Guestbook Zoo App???

Hi everyone,

I've been using Zoo for the past 12 months and love it.

Recently I had a project that needed a Guestbook, and I was really struggling to find a nice J1.7 compatible extension. I would have used Ninjamonials but they are taking their sweet time in converting ANYTHING to 1.7.

So I thought, why don't I just write one in Zoo?

Anyway, being pressed for time, I hacked up the Blog app to do what I needed - but is there any interest in developing a Guestbook App for Zoo??

Here is a link to my quick version so you get the idea.

I wouldn't mind doing it properly if I knew there would be people that would use it ;)

What are your thoughts??

Hi guys,

I'll go through and make sure its updated for the latest version of Zoo and I'll put up a link to the file :)

Its just a hack at the moment, but I think with a little love it could be a neat little Zoo App ;)

Hi guys!

As promised - here is my hack as is! Just head to my site and you can download what I've done so far.

I just upgraded the site I wrote it for to Zoo 2.5.14 and it seems to work fine.

If you take a look at the code you'll see I've done some very quick mods to get it to where it is, but I'll go back through and tidy everything up. If anyone is interested in giving me a hand, especially with writing some templates that would be great :)

EDIT - Also note that the template currently modified is "Warp 6" - I'll work on building some custom template soon ;)

Hi Ben,

It looks like a good start and you can add a couple of things to enhance it.

I have a component that does that with more options and was thinking of doing it on Zoo as an app.

If you like we can collaborate on it.

Great work Ben...

It shows what you can do with Zoo when you use your imagination! :)

A client wanted a guestbook and the J Extensions Directory offered very little, I had to go with a sub-par product, it ruined the gorgeous Yootheme I used! I simply didn't think that a ZooBlog configuration could pull it off!

great work! I'm actualy working on a new homepage for my wife's physiotherapy praxis.
I also want to integrate a guestbook and would appreciate to have a detailed look on yours.
